Are your products PARABEN-FREE?

Lord&Berry products may contain parabens when there is no other valid natural alternative. (see PDF “LAB-paraben free”)

Parabens are among the most popular preservatives in the cosmetic, pharmaceutical and food industries. They are extremely effective in maintaining stable products. The absence of preservatives would require products to be stored in a refrigerator and use them within a couple of weeks after production. These specific ingredients are studied, regulated and fully accepted by the European Community and the FDA in the United States. This means that they have been tested several times to check their total safety.

Unfortunately, there is a small number of people allergic to parabens. For this reason, we always recommend reading the ingredients on the box and in case of particularly allergies or sensitive skin.

We always recommend consulting your allergist.

Our chemist are continuously searching for valid alternatives to parabens preservatives and gradually converting the whole range to paraben free formulations.

Are your products VEGAN? If NO, then what animal by products are used in the formulations?

Over the years Lord&Berry has replaced many animal ingredients with vegetable derivatives. However, some of the Lord&Berry products still contain animal derivatives such as beeswax (see PDF “LAB-vegan”). We only use beeswax in formulas where sunflower waxes are not performing enough (therefore avoiding silicones and petrolatum). We also carefully select suppliers for this raw material to ensure that no bee is being abused and the wax collection process is fully sustainable.

Are your products NON-COMEDOGENIC?

Most of our products do not contain comedogenic ingredients. Unfortunately, it is not easy to exclude all comedogenic ingredients from the formulas. On many ingredients, the degree of comedogenicity or irritability depends on individual factors like the each one skin type. To be sure of the compatibility of a product, we always recommend to use it on small areas for about three days and see if there could be any possible reactions.

Only SILHOUETTE Lip Liner and Lip Treatment (item #6501) contains hydrolyzed wheat protein which is a vegetable lipoprotein obtained by the acylation of fatty acids extracted from olive oil and wheat proteins.
